On The Friday Random Ten VII
What? Doing the Friday Random Ten on Friday? Unheard of.

Da Rules: "So! You know what day it is! Time to put your digital music player on shuffle, click play, and list the first ten songs that show up. You must resist the temptation to click past the bad or embarrassing songs."

  1. "The Sad Song" by Fredo Viola - Bah dee up-ah, bah dee up-ah, bah dee ahhh.
  2. "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" by Nine Days - The original version of this that won them a spot on a WLIR music compilation is so much better than the album take.
  3. "Rhiannon" by Fleetwood Mac - It's Fleetwood Mac and that's all there is to say about that.
  4. "When He's Not Around" by The Corrs - I...well, uhm...hey, look over there!
  5. "Head" by Lotion - I haven't heard this for a while, like since I bought it for $1.
  6. "Orinoco Flow" by Enya - You too can sail away, sail away, sail away but first you have to find the Orinoco on a map.
  7. "Delirious" by Prince - When you need to get the party started, who ya gonna call?
  8. "Ashes to Ashes" by Tears for Fears - When the party needs to stop, who ya gonna call?
  9. "ESY-SHJ" by Joi - Almost, almost my majorly enjoyed track for the week. The album "One and One Is One" is two good.
  10. "Fastest Man Alive" by Ugly Americans - Fun but forgettable. I like Bob's solo stuff much more.
Majorly Enjoyed:Oh man, I was so excited when the set started with Fredo Viola's "Sad Song" (from his album The Turn). I love the layered vocals and the nonsense lyrics, particularly the line that I swear is "Baby Harry, be good." If you want to hear the track and see a cool visual experiment at the same time, check out the video.

Minorly Enjoyed: While I'll happily defend owning Enya's Watermark, I have no excuse for taking up a slot with The Corrs' Talk on Corners: Special Edition. I think I got it free and decided to keep it around in case anyone else wanted to listen to it at a party. Now, I'm just embarrassed to have to defend its presence. Maybe I'll delete these MP3s and sell the CD tonight.

In closing, is "Baby Harry" a reference to a young English monarch or an infant wizard?
